Our minds betray us way more than these beautiful bodies do.
So many of us spend so much time directing negative energy towards these bodies and it’s lack of perfection than we do pay attention to how our thoughts are sabotaging our lives. This mind of mine and subconscious dictates the outcome of my days, years and life. If I don’t maintain discipline and constant vigilance it will have me spiraled into self-doubt and no movement forward, just living in the safety of my comfort zone.
We all want more though. We want adventurous lives, lives that have a meaning and purpose, lives that are happy and not constantly stressed and bored. We want to be able to look back on our lives and be proud of what we did with our time here. Yet our minds will betray us and hold us hostage from those desires. It is filled with self-doubt, fear and wages war on us constantly.
Here is an example; I set out to write a book and the moment the pen is in hand the thoughts bubble up saying this is a stupid idea, this won’t be helpful to anyone. Which of course distracts the creative process. A lot of times I have to have a conversation with negative Nelly in my head and tell her to shut the fuck up and she is just being mean and doesn’t want what is best for me. She just wants me to stay safe in my small life and live on autopilot instead of being brave and bold.
Negative Nelly would also have me hide all my talents and gifts just so I wouldn’t risk being ridiculed. Guess what? I am going to be ridiculed and I am going to have haters, that is life. Not everyone is my cup of tea nor am I theirs. BUT there are lots of people I love and admire and am forever grateful for their boldness, so that means there are a lot of people that will love me and are needing me to be bold as well.
You, my beautiful friend really honestly have talents that are dying to be expressed to the world and some people out in this beautiful universe are desperately needing to experience them. Are you willing to help your fellow human?
Let beautiful, uniquely YOU gifts begin to peak their heads out of hiding. How? Comment to this post, just simply list things you enjoy doing.
List the things you always keep coming back to.
These are the things your heart resonate with. Putting them out there publicly brings them out of hiding and helps legitimize these wonderful things. Then commit to practicing using one of these gifts on two days a week for the next four weeks.
So if you LOVE, doing Yoga find a friend, co-worker and together you two practice Yoga on Tuesday and Thursday’s for just one month. It can be anything; we just want to get in the habit of immersing ourselves in the things we love each week. The doors begin to open and we practice building confidence around these things so it is much easier to silence Negative Nelly when she wants to speak up.
I am so excited to hear what brings joy to your hearts!
